Real business intelligence is identifying when a deal is fundamentally compromised before it's too late. In 2020, Ritch Ventures was positioned for a significant investment in Alabama. However, as our due diligence progressed, we uncovered ethical red flags and opaque structures that did not meet our standards.
We made the difficult strategic decision to withdraw our investment and walk away from a $3.5 million opportunity. In certain "protected" circles, walking away is seen as a provocation, and we faced retaliatory regulatory friction as a result.
We accept this friction as a badge of honor. At Ritch Ventures, we build transparent, growth-oriented ecosystems. If a deal requires us to compromise our integrity, we don't just negotiate — we exit.
